Short Biography of Dr Mrs. Bertha Danso
Dr. Mrs. Bertha Danso is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality Management at Takoradi Technical University (TTU) in Ghana, with over two decades of experience at the institution. She holds a PhD in Management Science and Engineering (Hospitality) from Jiangsu University, China, where she studied on a full presidential scholarship. Her academic credentials also include an M.Ed. in Home Economics (Foods and Nutrition), a B.Sc. in Hospitality Management, and an HND in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management.
An accomplished administrator, Dr Danso currently serves as the Director of the Centre of Excellence for Gender, Disability and Advocacy (CEGENDA) at TTU and previously served as Vice Dean of Students’ Affairs. Her dedication to student development is evident in her supervision of over 50 thesis projects and her ongoing role as an Academic Counsellor. She has also led numerous curriculum review committees, including chairing the reviews for the B. Tech and HND programmes in Hospitality.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Danso is deeply committed to community and professional service. She serves as a reviewer for several international journals, including the prestigious *Humanities and Social Sciences Communications* (Springer Nature). She is the Chairperson of the Coordinating Team for Meatless Monday Ghana at TTU and has served on the Local Organising Committees for major conferences like ARCTUG and IBERC. As a sought-after resource person, she has delivered training in grooming and hospitality skills to industry players, including Western Serene Atlantic Hotel and the Benso/Twifopraso Oil Palm Plantations. She is also an active member of the "Care Foundation," supporting widows and the less privileged in Takoradi.
